Well, after long idle time, i just create some clothes for another model. But this time i used Houdini for modeling. My other experiment was done with SoftImage|XSI see Dorothy Gale.

The difference between SoftImage|XSI and Houdini ist, that Houdini is not that cool for real hardcore modeling. SoftImage|XSI is way faster and user friendly, well it is more friendlier than any other software for sure, but in the end of the day, Houdini could get amazing points, because of the proceduralism. It is super easy to modify start parameters, like divisions, jitter and other thing, without going crazy. This was sometimes a real nightmare with SoftImage|XSI, but anyway, in other software packages is this even nearly impossible.

In summary, I would say, you have to change the workflow a bit, to fit into procedural thinking, and than Houdini will be a good alternative to SoftImage|XSI. See the arm thing band:

The most advantage of Houdini is, in this case, the automatic generated UVs. Early in the years, you know stone-age, you need a clean UV, because the painting artists using a picture editor to paint colors on it. Meanwhile you paint direct on the model and nobody cares about UVs anymore. And this saves round about 2 month time (not really). In Houdini you unflatten it and make some cuts, and period.

But, this model does not even use UV, it uses vertex colors and no textures. I test it with blender, and he import the colors, but you have to activate the display for it.

The hairs ar in anime style. I didn’t use grooming with real hair stuff. That would looks wired. Anime Character style with real hairs …

Small stickers are extra models

Well, for now I am happy. It’s missing a rig and animation, and stuff like that …
